The New Forest
Welcome to Rogers site –“Images of the New Forest”. The site mainly concentrates on the magical area where I live.
In 1079 William the Conqueror created Nova Foresta (New Forest) as an area for hunting. Nearly 1000 years on and much of William’s Nova Foresta remains unchanged. Many parts of the New Forest still possess a certain mystery, romance and hidden treasures waiting to be found. In 2005 the New Forest was designated as a National Park.
Ponies, cattle, donkeys and pigs roam and graze freely. Look at a little closer and you might catch sight of other wildlife such as snakes, foxes and badgers.
The images in my ‘Gallery’ attempt to capture some of what can be enjoyed not only by those that live and work in the New Forest, but also by the thousands of tourists who visit the New Forest for holidays every year. So please take a look at some of the stunning sunset and sunrise images, the flora and fungi, the birds of the New Forest, the coast and landscapes and not forgetting the ponies, deer and other wildlife photographs all highlighted in my gallery pages.
